The Mississippi Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (MARPAC) exists to promote the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates in Mississippi and across the United States through its affiliation with the national REALTORS® Political Action Committee. The purpose of MARPAC is clear: REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates, regardless of political party affiliation, who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of how important campaign fundraising is to the political process. MARPAC doesn’t buy votes. MARPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood. Additionally, MARPAC sponsors political events, hosts legislative receptions and works with other business organizations to take public positions on issues affecting the community. Funds are also available to local REALTOR® Boards for the purpose of addressing key real estate issues in their area that impact the industry, and supporting candidates who support housing, real estate, and property rights issues.
